For the first year after we arrived at Kilbeg House we were making some improvements to the house, and did very little in the garden. To be honest, a garden of this size was a challenge for us, and we didn't really know where to start, except to cut the grass in front of the house and mow paths elsewhere. But late in 2016 we contacted Andrew Peters (Rural and Coastal Garden Design) to look for some inspiration and advice. Andrew wrote a report indicating essential tree work and identifying areas for planting. One of these areas was the area below the gate at the top of the drive.
