Welcome to Kilbeg House Garden: The Shelter Beds

January 2018

Another change that Andrew suggested was at the south boundary, which overlooks the beach. We have a small gate that leads to the access path to the beach, and either side of the gate, along the fence line, was a double row of willow. Not only did these need frequent pruning, but they also blocked the view. So the proposal was to establish a shelter belt a short distance further inside the garden, and then once that was established, to gradually remove the willows. The area was marked out and sprayed off late in 2017, and by January 2018 we were ready to start.
